Cricut Challenge...

I was so happy to join in last month for the cricut challenge, and this month was no different. This month the challenge was to use a cricut cut with the card feature for your card, altered item or scrapbook page. I told myself from the beginning that if I was going to do this I had to do a scrapbook page no matter what. I am really trying hard to get my Korea album finish and this challenge will help me accomplish this.

So, for my project I decided to use the bamboo cut from the Life's a Beach Cart using the photo card feature. I really like how it turned out. I also used the bamboo charm feature. For the title I used Lyrical Letters (can't remember the feature right now).

These photos are from my Temple stay while in Korea. The bamboo off to the side of the temple was really neat to see. I had never seen bamboo growing in the "wild". The view that is framed is looking out on the temple grounds from the bamboo "forest".

I have a Swap A Crop layout that I need to finish... then it's packing for my crop at the coast! I am so looking forward to getting away for a few days and meeting some friends in real life (Watch out Vivienne, Steph and Kris! lol). Oh and making a serious dent in my Korea scrap pages. Heck maybe I will get a few done of Lori's wedding. You never know... depends on how much talking I accomplish too! lol

Have a great night!

Where have the days gone....?

It seems like only yesterday I had a few moments to myself. I have been super busy with no time to play. I hate when reality gets in the way of my crafting. lol On a very positive note, spring is finally here in Eastern Oregon. Now the dusting of snow we had again last week may have convinced you otherwise but these flowers tell me something different.

I love spring so much! It beautiful outside, fun to see what survived through the long winter. I had a vase of daffodils in my office last week and look forward to putting some more in this week. It just brings the spring inside too! Love it! I hope things are springy where you are at.

Have a wonderful week!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 12...

Yep, it's time again. I know it is late Tuesday night but I have been busy. lol. Here is the sketch for the week from Karen's blog:

This is such a simple sketch that can certianly be dressed up or taken just how it is. When I saw it on Sunday I knew I wanted to try something with it but with so much to do I didn't know if I would have time. Well, unfortunatly I had a need to make a sympathy card. I had few on hand but they were just not the "right" kind. So with my co-worker in mind I decided to take the time with this sketch and make him a card sympathizing the loss of his mother. So, crummy reason to make a card but I did enjoy making it and the sketch was fab to work with. Here is my take on it:

Now there is still time to take part in this sketch challenge and upload your link of your blog post on Karen's for a chance to be spotlighted. Go quick and grab your supplies!

A note...

I was telling you on Saturday that I made two cards in the process of working on my Jazzy Inspiration Challenge 9. Here is my second card that I made:

I really liked the card from yesterday but had my doubts in the skill for the card so I made this one. And in the end I liked my first card the best. This is the item I used for my inspiration on this card. I stuck with the purple tones cause I love purple so much!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Jazzy Inspirations 9...

Well I did it! I got my card finished for this weeks challenge on the Jazzy Inspirations blog. Check it out!!!!

This time around we had to pick something off of this wonderful Jazz Art site to get our inspiration from. This is the link to my inspiration.I focused on the colors and the "purple" flowers through the middle.

I had so much fun participating. It has been a great privilege to be asked to be the guest designer. Thank you Tenia and the rest of the team. Be sure to check out the blog and see what the designers came up with for their project and of course what their inspiration was on the Jazz Art site!!

Tomorrow I will show you the other card I created from inspiration on the Jazz Art blog. It was hard to pick which one to submit so at least you will see both of the cards I came up with.

All paper was from my scrap stash and the image is one of the beautiful Whiff of Joy stamps I got for my Birthday!

Breathtaking...

For April's SwapACrop challenge we are going off of the sketch to the right. When the swap was posted I knew it was perfect for one of my own pages. I couldn't wait to use it. This a great sketch to use for lots of photos or even throwing in some enlargements. There is still time to sign up for the swap... you have until April 5th....post a comment if you are interested and I will send you a link to the thread on the Cricut MB where it is posted.

Okay.... after the sketch comes my page I created:

Close up of the journaling circle:

Showing off my Lyrical Letters title : )

For this page I used some retired SU card stock and printed paper as well as the SU set Embrace Life. These photos are from my first view of a temple while I was in Korea. This temple was smack dab in the middle of the HUGE (and I mean huge) city Lori and Josh were living in called Daejeon. The Korean writing and painting was absolutely beautiful. So calming with the hustle and the bustle of the city just outside the gate. Kind of crazy too!
