Happy Sunday...
Wow, the days fly! Mom and I picked huckleberries today! Yum, yum! We only went for a couple of hours and I think we got enough to freeze a couple of quart bags. I am very excited because our stash from last year is getting very low and I am stingy with my huckleberries. I picked with some family friends earlier in the week and I think seeing the ones I picked made Mom want to go again. Today was only my second time this season but it sounds like we are going to go up at least once over Labor Day weekend. Yeah!

Jen, and Jody - a huckleberry trick.. instead of having to hold onto a bucket while picking, take a gallon milk jug, that has part of the top cut off ( leaving the handle intact), and wear a pair of jeans with belt loops . That way you can slip your jug onto your belt, and then buckle up. That way your hands are free to pick without worrying a bout spilling your open containter in your hand! Enjoy your berries. we just picked over a gallon all total the last couple weeks. Poor season for those little huckleberry friends though.
