Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my friends and family!

12.24.2009

One more before Christmas...

Every year I make a "tree" themed card to send out to everyone. However I had a few extras from my card class that were mailed out too. (I couldn't let them go to waste. LOL)This is the last one from my class.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Cute aren't they?

I have looked and looked forever and decided I had to have this set for a Christmas card class I had the first part of the month. It has two other images in the set, Holiday Lineup. It's just too cute!

Monday!?!?!? Wow it's almost here...

Christmas that is.

I can hardly believe that Christmas is just around the corner. I thought I would take part of the next few days to come and share some of the Christmas cards I made this year.

Thanks for looking!

Jazzy week....

Well, yes it has been a great week, fast that is, but it's time again for another challenge from the Jazzy Inspirations blog. Here is what I came up with:

Head on over to see our album cover for inspiration and be sure to play along. Also, don't forget to check out what the other gals created this week. Links to their blogs are on my sidebar.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Monday is here again...

Another card using Thoughts and Prayers, one of my favorite stamps! I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and have loved using it ever since.

This card uses colors that are way out of my comfort zone... dusty durango and melon mambo... who would have dreamed it... well someone! : )

Got a busy week again. Crafting, crafting I go. Came across a new to me blog that is holding a design team call.. oh how I wish I could enter. You have to submit everything by the 15th. With the craft fair I am doing I just don't have enough time. : ) Bummer. On a wonderful note, Wednesday I am taking a machine quilting class. My goal is to quilt my Mom's wall hanging I made for her. I will show you a picture of it when it is completed.

October is gone and November is in full swing...

Wow! That is all I have to say! I can't believe that October passed me by. I don't know what I did with all the time. Crazy. I am in a full swing crafting mode right now. Getting ready for a craft fair the end of the month. I have a few cute projects to share with you if I can pull myself away from the crafting and onto the blogging. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I had my monthly card class last week and the gals made four cards. Two that were fall themed and two that were sympathy themed. The following is one of the cards I made:

Thanks for stopping by.

Jazzy 19...

Well, where do I start....? Sorry to be MIA lately. I have been busy, distracted.. just plain enjoying the last little bit of summer! : )

I received this weeks Jazzy Inspirations challenge and knew just what stamp I was going to use! Here is my card:

We were to use the colors white, light blue and purple. Just love them together! I hope you will head to each of the design team members blog and see what they created this week! And don't forget to play along... head over to Jazzy Inspirations to get all the details!

Later this weekend I will try to post my challenge for #18 that I never got around to posting... stay tuned!

Jazzy Inspirations 17...

Here is the card I created this week with our challenge:

We were to use the colors, dark blue, orange, red, black and white. This week were were also given a Digi Shack image to work with (you need to go check out their stuff) The winner of this weeks challenge has a chance to win $15 towards images. What are you waiting for.... make a card with the colors and submit it!

I do have to admit that this challenge was a tough one for me. I still am not 100% happy with what I created but with a deadline it had to do. : ) LOL. The colors were tough, not ones I would typically use together which I guess is why it is a challenge isn't it? LOL. Anyway, I would love for you to head over to the Jazzy Inspirations Blog (link is on the sidebar to the left) and also check out what all the designers and guest designers created! You will love their creations!

July SAC Part 2...

For this months Swap A Crop I was given Michelle's pictures. They are from her family egg hunt. I didn't have much for Easter paper and wasn't for sure what I was going to create. Lori was on her way to visit and I knew she was going to be stopping by Craft Warehouse. I was excited. So, she picked me up the paper.

I took the pictures up to our camping weekend but realized I forgot the sketch that I was to follow at home. I had to put it on hold till we got back. I was bummed. Anyway, camping or no camping I really liked how it turned out!

July SAC Part 1...

Okay, I mentioned earlier this week that I'd show you another layout Jean made. Well, here it is:

She was given my July photos to scrap so when I opened my package from her I not only received my June SAC layout I got July's too! I was super excited. She is such a great scrapper. I enjoy her touch to my layouts.

This page is a collection of some of the plant life from Korea. She made a couple photo collages that look very beautiful. She did have a sketch to go off of for the swap and did it perfectly. Thanks Jean for two wonderful layouts!

June SAC from Jean...

Here is the wonderful layout Jean made me:

The gal that was supposed to scrap for me did what I call "flaked" and never followed through with her commitments. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one left hanging. So, our wonderful hostess, Steph, found some individuals to step in and create our layouts. Jean is such a sweetheart and volunteered to do my pictures. She did a super job. I love the layout. Take a peek later this week and I will show you the other fabulous layout she made (gotta take another pic).

Happy Monday!

Fair time comes to an end...

Wow, did July ever fly by?!!?!? It seems just like yesterday I was enjoying our wonderful spring weather. Not anymore. It's one hot cookie here. I am not much of a hot weather person. I think that is why I prefer the spring and the fall. They are medium temperatures for my area and I get to enjoy all the colors that go with both.

Yesterday August appeared and it was also the last day for the Union County Fair. Today I went and picked up all of my entries and collected my fair premium. I just love entering stuff. It brings me great joy. This year I entered a scrapbook page (the one I showed earlier title "my brother"), three photographs (one from my trip to the coast and two of the Burgess girls), and two different kinds of cookies.

This year Mom entered lots of different vegetables from the garden (pea pods, green beans, rhubarb, crookneck squash, cherry tomatoes and chives) as well as a wonderful mixed flower bouquet. I couldn't part with an ear of corn nor a pumpkin from my garden so we called it good and just entered her garden goodies.

All the yard work is done for the weekend so hopefully now I can do a little more creating. I have some fun goodies coming in the mail and I want plenty of time to play with them. : )

Jazzy Inspirations Challenge 16 and some CANDY...

Each challenge I have participated in on the Jazzy Inspirations blog has been so much fun. It's even more special now that I am a member of the design team! This week there is a chance for you to win some fantastic blog candy just for playing along! You should definitely take the time to rock out a wonderful card and get yourself entered for some blog candy. This week the design team was challenged to use the colors, turquoise/teal, white and black from the trumpet print. Here is what I came up with:

Now where is your card for the challenge? Be sure to head over to the Jazzy Inspirations blog and check out all the details and don't forget to check out the design teams creations as well, cause you don't want to miss out on all the blog candy up for grabs. Their links are on the left of my blog.

My Brother...

What can I say??? I just love how this layout turned out. I didn't intend on taking a close-up photo, it just happened by accident and then after seeing it I knew I had to make a layout with it. I really enjoyed the time I spent with my brother for lunch that day and looking back while working on this layout made me smile, just like he does.

I made it back safely from my "camping" trip this weekend. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it next year. With all the bragging Lori and I have done I think we might have to do it twice, once with just the two of us for our new tradition and then a second time and invite all of our other scrapper friends. I am sure they would have enjoyed themselves as well. Hopefully I will have a free daylight moment to snap a couple pictures for you to see what I accomplished. I actually got a lot of layouts done. However, I had one very specific project, July's SAC, and it's a sketch challenge and didn't even put a dent on it. Lori picked up some paper for me on here way here and I printed the pictures out for the July SAC. Got up to the mountains and pulled everything out and no sketch!! I was bummed. Guess I know what I will be doing this weekend. : )

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Blessed...

I just couldn't resist making a cute layout for Heather of the picture I took of her and the girls. I gave it to her for a Mother's Day/Birthday Gift. Now I just need to find her a frame for it as I haven't given her the scrapping bug! LOL

I have lots to do today! Getting ready for the BIG "camping" trip with my BFF. We are going away and scrapping for three days! Wahoo! I am super excited. I am hoping to have lots to share when I return but most of all to come back rested and relaxed! Got a scrap mag packed and a good book to read, now just to gather all those scrapping supplies. LOL

Have a great weekend!

Jazzy Inspirations Challenge 15...

It's that time............

...time for my first card as a design team member for Jazzy Inspirations. Wahoo!

For this challenge we were going off the "Sweets" Edison Album cover for the colors bright green, bright yellow, white and black. I have a large list of cards I need to finish for all kinds of occasions and this challenge was perfect for Lori and Josh's anniversary card! I hope they like it! : ) I was able to ink up my new SU set Herb Expressions. Wow, I love that set. Can't wait to use it again. I also used the set Wonderful Favorites which has something for every occasion.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday! It's been a long humid day. Can't wait to see what is in store for me tomorrow! Don't forget to stop by the other design team members blogs and see what they created this week!

Joy...

Here is one of the layouts that I created for the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's week of fun:

I took this picture when I was on my way to the coast for my scrapping weekend and spent some time with my older brother. We went to lunch and then stopped at the viewpoint for some pictures. It was some wonderful quality time!

7.09.2009

Wahoo!!!

I found out earlier this week that I am on the Jazzy Inspirations Design Team! I am so excited. As many of you know I have been following the blog for a while now and really enjoy the challenges. So, when the chance to apply for the design team came up I couldn't pass on the opportunity! Be sure to stop back by on Saturday to see what I have created for our first challenge! I think you will like it! Also, take a minute to check out the other design team members blogs (links on my sidebar)... I think you will really enjoy their work, I sure do!

A day at the park...

I had the pleasure of watching my two "nieces" a while back and had a lot of fun snapping photos of them at the park. They just love the camera. My friend Heather, their mom, showed up to get them at the park and decided to play with us for a while. I couldn't let the opportunity pass by not taking a family photo of them. : )

This is the layout for my book.
I used a supply challenge to give this layout creating a little of a twist. I had to use 3 solid colors of cardstock, 2 printed papers, two buttons, ribbon and one other embellishment of my choice. I used a flower.

Thanks for stopping by!

6.23.2009

Razzleberry love....

I have been staring at my new stampin' Up! stuff for a while. The new colors are growing on me. I kind of had a jump start since I joined a swap and we had to use a new sneak peek SU set and products out of the catty that goes live on July 1st. This is what I created:

I did a lot of looking around to get some ideas for the card layout and finally my design came to life! Wahoo! Now I just need a few more hours to play with the rest of my new goodies and get a little scrapping in as well. Wish me luck!

Materials used (all SU): Cardstock- Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Whisper White. Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper. Kind and Caring Thoughts Hostess set. Markers- Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive. Misc.- Silver Brads, Distress Tool, Scallop Border Punch, Rich Razzleberry Pokadot Ribbon.

Happy Father's Day....

Here is the card I made my Dad for Father's Day. I just love how it turned out. When I was born I had lots of hair all over and my parents called me a monkey. So, I thought it to be only fitting to make him a card with a monkey on it. : ) I used three of my cricut cartridges- Calligraphy Collection, Lyrical Letters, and Animal Kingdom! I was super excited to use some many on one project!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day! I am off to cook my Daddy dinner!

6.14.2009

Food Drive Winners...

Anne made this layout for me during the May SwapACrop.... I love her creativity with the photos. These photos are from our food drive against the other city departments. The fire department collected the most amount of food. Those fire guys are always willing to pitch in when needed. Anyhoo, the paper she selected is just darling! I need to get my hands on some of it.

Hope you are having a great Sunday!

6.10.2009

Sweet Sunday Sketch...

Yesterday was our annual Police/Fire golf tournament... I didn't do too bad at all. I do need to get out on the course a little more often. I had some wonderful drives. I was beaming a couple times! Heather and I start golf lessons on Thursday, she has decided to take up golf and I knew a few lessons surly wouldn't hurt me! :) I'll keep you posted on our success!

So, in between some golfing I jumped in and make a card based on the sketch to the above.

I just love it!

Materials used-all SU: Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette Classic Ink; Thank you Kindly and Echoes of Kindness Stamp sets; Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Kraft and Whisper white card stock and Scrap SU DSP
