Mojo Monday...

Between all the excitement over at the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's site... I actually have been crafting, a lot! This weeks Mojo Monday challenge is also one of the challenges for the site with some yummy verve stamps as the prizes! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Here is what I came up with:

Be sure to head over to this blog and check out what everyone else created!

May SAC Part 2

Here is the layout I made for Jean:

Her photos she submitted made me very jealous. I want to travel again real soon! I had some very specific instructions from Jean for what she wanted on her original set of photos and unfortunately I could not make them larger and the printing quality was not satisfactory. So, Jean gave me another set to work on (the ones in the photo). It was wonderful to have to work with so many photos on a layout. I really enjoyed that. I have been challenging myself with multi-photo layouts that are "different" instead of your typical 4x6 photo's crammed into a double layout. Anyways, I think this worked. I can't wait to see what Jean thinks of her layout!

Congrats...

I had a bit of time on my extra day off and was able to do some blog surfing. Of course I had to hit my normal favorites and this time around Karen's blog was no different. She had a post about a week long event called "Stampin' Out Alzheimer's". I jumped right on board and so should you (link is in my sidebar)! It's a great cause that unfortunately has a large place in my heart with my Grandpa Stanley's memories and recognition of me being taken away. : (

I got right to her card sketch and incorporated the Jazzy Inspiration Challenge for the week for my color inspiration too.
I am really excited how this card turned out. One of my Mom's co-workers is retiring on Friday and through the years she has become a very special person in my life. I made this card a congrats on your retirement with the gorgeous butterflies cut from the SU Bigz die Tanya let me borrow! (Thanks Tanya!)I can't wait to give the card to Cathy.
Here is my card:

May SAC (part 1)...

This evening I had some time to finish up one of the layouts I am making for May's SwapACrop. When I saw this weeks sketch over at Unscripted Sketches I just knew it would be perfect for the pictures I had. I was really excited to finally be able to join in... I have been itching to participate ever since the blog started. You should go check out the blog and what their design team members created as well.

Here is the sketch they posted:
I can just vision all the different possibilites on this sketch, can you? I am not one for single page layouts. I just always seem to have enough to make a double so it was a nice change to do this. I am however, getting better at doing single layouts. I try to tell myself I don't have to use every single picture I take. lol

Here is my take on the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by!

Well, well, well...

Last night was the finish of our budget hearings for the City. And a huge weight has been lifted from my stress load. It's been a crazy. At times I didn't know which way I was headed and my mind was so distracted thinking about numbers and scenarios it has been the pits.

I am excited to have a little more ME time and be able to create again this weekend. I still have to show you the layouts I made while I was at my crop at the coast. I had couple of the layouts that needed some finishing touches and the rest just needed photos snapped to share...so I am keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend.

I have the evening free tonight except that I am having a candle party tomorrow and my house is in need of some serious vacuuming and straighting up (I did however manage to un-pack from my trip). Off to cleaning I shall go.

Catch up later,

Happy Mother's Day....!

I had an absolutely wonderful day spending time with my Mom. I took her to breakfast this morning, we went for a drive, got our Sunday soda pop and then came home and "played" (she says play I say work) in the yard. It was such a perfect day to be outside. Not too hot and not too cold. However, I think I might have gotten a little too much sun. Ouch! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day and were able to do something special!

I made this card for my Mom for Mother's day. She just loves flowers so when I saw it posted on Dawn's blog I knew it would be perfect for her!

I also used the colors in this weeks Jazzy Inspirations Challenge. What great colors to choose from... black, red, yellow and white. I think my card fits just perfectly. You should come and play along in the challenge. Check out the blog here.

I used all scraps for this card except the black base. I didn't have any plain black scraps except printed ones. For the flowers I used my Cricut and the Life's A Beach cartridge.

Here's to a wonderful week!

I Scream for Ice Cream...

I saw this wonderful card over at one of my favorite blogs... and just had to make one of my own!

This card is so flipping cute. You could change the greeting and make it for so many different occasions. I was thinking of making a few of them for an ice cream party this summer. Hummmm sounds oh so yummy!

Have a wonderful weekend!

April SAC Part 1...

I received this wonder layout from Sheila for April's SwapACrop. Our challenge this month was to go off this sketch. I am so excited to add it to my Korea album. The colors Sheila used are perfect (you know since green is one of my favorites). She went above and beyond and even added some Korean writing to my layout. Wowzers! Thanks Sheila!
