Oregon Trail ATC...

Well, here it is. I joined an ATC swap and the theme was a family heritage. I instantly had an idea and knew I would join. I remember seeing a wagon on the Paper Dolls cart and since I have relatives that traveled the Oregon Trail I would do something along that line. I asked my friend, Velva, if she would cut me a few Oregon shapes from her 50 States cart (One I don't have. lol) and she was kind enough to say yes! I cut the wagon out twice, once in brown and the second time with velum. I really like how they turned out!

Thanks for looking!

Goody box...

I decided to jump in and make one of these really cute boxes after viewing this tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers. I thought it would be really hard to make but it wasn't. Give it a try! It would make a cute box for your valentine!

I used Define Your Life and Sweet Stems for my stamps and raspberry tart DSP. Coral Cameo and Whisper White CS as well Kiwi Kiss ribbon.

Valentine tiny treats...

I saw this project on another blog (sorry I can't remember right now which one) and new I needed to make a few of these. They are so easy! I was able to use some of my Love You Much Bundle from SU. I cut the red tops out of riding hood red and then stamped the love you much stamp set in the riding hood red on pink pirouette card stock. Then used the heart punch that cuts them out perfectly and applied them to the life savers.

Thanks for looking!

Party Favors...

I just can't seem to get enough of these "sour cream containers". They are so easy to make and really quick.

I think I am addicted to that scallop square punch as much as I love my scallop circle punch. I was able to ink up a new stamp set and loved using my going gray ink pad for the "hi" stamp. That color is really growing on me.

Photo/Note clips...

Isn't it funny how we can use very simple office products to make something special? My office can have such a dull feeling that I love to add just a little of me to the simple things I use and well this is one...

I made these before and showed you it what I came up with. This time I used some different SU paper and that really cute curly label punch and stamp set. I am going to be putting a picture in one of them on my book case and the other will be used to hold reminder notes on my desk. (you can never have to many reminders)

Some Mom help.....

I was not feeling my "quilting" ATC swap that I joined. I just didn't know what to do what paper to use and how I wanted it to look. I try to challenge myself because some of the ladies I swap with are so talented. I don't ever want them to think mine are not all that neat if you know what I mean.

So I decided I wanted to do some stitching on the outside of the rectangle and then put batting between the layers for a quilted look. Thought long and hard about doing an applique on the ATC and this is what I came up with:

I flipped though my paper and found this really pretty, simple and kind of quilt like burgundy paper. Much to my surprise I found cardstock to match. I decided on doing a heart shape for the applique because the couple of extra samples/tests I made I could use on Valentine cards. I got the hearts cut out with my Cricut and then entered Mom into the picture.... I am not a very good sewer. My Mom offered to help me assemble and gave some great input on my batting location and stitch among other things. Thanks to her the sewing got done. If she hadn't stepped in the pieces might still be sitting on my table. Thanks Mom for the help!

Baby Shower "Bag"...

One of my co-workers had her baby shower this past weekend. I always try to make something for the mom as well as pick up something cute for the baby to wear. The baby's room is being decorated in browns and apples. Cute! I got the invite and wondered if this was the theme since the invite had apples on it. Anyway, I went to work decorating a very simple paint can for the present to go in. Maybe the new mommy can use it within her baby room decor?

Favorite Things...

No, this is not a list to bore you of all my favorite things. lol I joined a ATC swap and we were to make our favorite things ATC's. I decided to do my new favorite techniques. I love how they turned out. I did faux embossing with the stamped images from SU. Then on the middle image I did the cracked glass technique using clear embossing powder. It was a lot of fun!

Christmas Note Pad...

I saw the tutorial over at SCS awhile back and wanted to try my hand at making a few of these. I have officially completed one! Yeah. They are really easy I just haven't spent the time to sit down and craft period. I guess that is what happens when you can't stay away from work. Today is our Christmas "party." I hope it is a lot of fun. I pushed my way into helping. Hope I don't regret it! lol. I'll let you know how it goes. I have a couple surprises in store for everyone attending... hope they enjoy it!

Here is a pic of the book I made. I sent it along with the paint can to Lynette. I used the same paper so it would match.

Christmas Can Part 2...

Here is the can I made for Lynette. I really hope she enjoyed it. Very simple but I really like how it turned out. I glittered the snowflakes I cut out with my cricut. I had glitter everywhere. My vacuum cleaner was full of it when I got through! lol

Christmas is right around the corner...

I made these tags for a friends Christmas exchange packages. I just love that Top Note Die so much that I just had to use it again. I also used the Snow Swirled stamp set from SU too! I think these would be perfectly placed on top of a brown package. So beautiful!

Have a wonderful day and stay warm.

Goodies for my friends...

I made a fun project for some friends these past couple of weeks. I put my "top note" big shot die to great use by making little books. They could be used as a note pad or with a few pictures a cute little brag book. All materials are SU.

Hope you are having a good week. Turkey Day is right around the corner!

Fragments...

For my birthday I received a package of Tim Holtz-fragments from my friend Velva. I have wanted to use them for so long but didn't want to "waste" them either. I pondered using them on some cards or one of my ATC swaps but didn't have enough of the same size... plus they might be a little thick for mailing. Anyway, I was working on my Swap A Crop layout and knew this project was perfect to try out these fragments.

Here is what I made:

This months theme for SAC was submitting fall themed pics or if you didn't have fall pics the person creating your layout would use fall colors. I got some really cute pictures of a little boy a the pumpkin patch. So instead of using my Cricut to make little pumpkins I made square ones with the fragments and curled green paper for the vine. I will show you the pic of the layout next week, after I know the recipient has received it.

I really enjoyed using them. I still have more to use but I just might have to pick up some more. They are kind of addicting. If you haven't tried them I would recommend doing so. You will not regret it.

Count down calender...

I joined a swap on the cricut MB and it was for calender pieces for Christmas countdown. I have always wanted to make one but never really got the shove to do it.
Doing this was a challenge because of the size we had to keep the pieces in, 2 inches by 2 inches. It's a good thing I have made a set of ATC's. It got me used to working on a small canvas. lol. I signed up for three sets so I could give the the finished two sets to some friends so they could make a calender too. Because you know I really don't need three of my own calenders. : ) I can't wait to see the other pieces the other participants created... it should be interesting.

Table Decor....

I have been wanting to make these ever since I saw Dawn make them and post the instructions on her blog. I am a visual learner so her posts are some of my favs.

It is so awesome that everyone posts tutorials or videos of projects that are easy to follow. I am seriously thinking about getting a flip for my Christmas gift to myself so I can join my fellow bloggers and post some videos. Do you have a favorite blog you visit just for the videos and/or tutorials?

Well, enough jabbering here are the two pumpkins I made...

11.13.2008

Can't wait to use these...

I had a lot of fun making these cute little gift tags. You could also use them as ornaments for your tree if you wanted. I used two different sized circle punches as well as the scallop circle punch (I love that scallop circle!). I was gifted by my up-line Sharon (she is too sweet to me!) the stamp set! Love it! The only thing I really did differently then the decoration on the sour cream containers I posted earlier is put some creme ribbon between the layers for the "hanger". These are super quick and easy... I will definitely be attaching these to my homemade Christmas goodies this year!

11.09.2008

Christmas Ornament...

Here is the ornament I made using frosty day DSP and old olive ribbon. SU has a big shot die in the holiday mini that will cut out the circles and also score the lines for you. However, I didn't buy the die, yet, nor the kit they have that is ready to use... I punched out circles and scored the line to the best of my ability. After doing them I think I am going to pick up the die. You could use the "balls" for all kinds of decorations year around.... Oh the possibilities are endless. Anyway, the ladies at my workshop on Saturday liked it. The frosty day paper was a big hit too!

Whistle why we work....

I have been having a lot of fun working on all kinds of projects. Some for Christmas gifts, some for my clubs and a few to show at my workshop tomorrow. This was my first attempt at "sour cream containers". What do you think?

All materials are Stampin' Up! If you want directions on how to make these cute little things shoot me an email and I will get them to you!

My first attempt at Artist Trading Cards...

I joined a swap on the Cricut MB where we had to make 17 identical Christmas themed ATC's. I have seen so many that I liked and well to be honest so many that I thought were a bit over the top for my taste I didn't know where to begin. Somehow I managed to let the creativity flow and came up with the following:

I used SU set So Many Scallops, DCWV card stock and printed paper, SU white craft ink and white embossing powder and last but not least red fiber.

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!
