Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my friends and family!

12.24.2009

One more before Christmas...

Every year I make a "tree" themed card to send out to everyone. However I had a few extras from my card class that were mailed out too. (I couldn't let them go to waste. LOL)This is the last one from my class.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Cute aren't they?

I have looked and looked forever and decided I had to have this set for a Christmas card class I had the first part of the month. It has two other images in the set, Holiday Lineup. It's just too cute!

Monday!?!?!? Wow it's almost here...

Christmas that is.

I can hardly believe that Christmas is just around the corner. I thought I would take part of the next few days to come and share some of the Christmas cards I made this year.

Thanks for looking!

Monday is here again...

Another card using Thoughts and Prayers, one of my favorite stamps! I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and have loved using it ever since.

This card uses colors that are way out of my comfort zone... dusty durango and melon mambo... who would have dreamed it... well someone! : )

Got a busy week again. Crafting, crafting I go. Came across a new to me blog that is holding a design team call.. oh how I wish I could enter. You have to submit everything by the 15th. With the craft fair I am doing I just don't have enough time. : ) Bummer. On a wonderful note, Wednesday I am taking a machine quilting class. My goal is to quilt my Mom's wall hanging I made for her. I will show you a picture of it when it is completed.

October is gone and November is in full swing...

Wow! That is all I have to say! I can't believe that October passed me by. I don't know what I did with all the time. Crazy. I am in a full swing crafting mode right now. Getting ready for a craft fair the end of the month. I have a few cute projects to share with you if I can pull myself away from the crafting and onto the blogging. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I had my monthly card class last week and the gals made four cards. Two that were fall themed and two that were sympathy themed. The following is one of the cards I made:

Thanks for stopping by.

Jazzy Inspirations 17...

Here is the card I created this week with our challenge:

We were to use the colors, dark blue, orange, red, black and white. This week were were also given a Digi Shack image to work with (you need to go check out their stuff) The winner of this weeks challenge has a chance to win $15 towards images. What are you waiting for.... make a card with the colors and submit it!

I do have to admit that this challenge was a tough one for me. I still am not 100% happy with what I created but with a deadline it had to do. : ) LOL. The colors were tough, not ones I would typically use together which I guess is why it is a challenge isn't it? LOL. Anyway, I would love for you to head over to the Jazzy Inspirations Blog (link is on the sidebar to the left) and also check out what all the designers and guest designers created! You will love their creations!

Razzleberry love....

I have been staring at my new stampin' Up! stuff for a while. The new colors are growing on me. I kind of had a jump start since I joined a swap and we had to use a new sneak peek SU set and products out of the catty that goes live on July 1st. This is what I created:

I did a lot of looking around to get some ideas for the card layout and finally my design came to life! Wahoo! Now I just need a few more hours to play with the rest of my new goodies and get a little scrapping in as well. Wish me luck!

Happy Father's Day....

Here is the card I made my Dad for Father's Day. I just love how it turned out. When I was born I had lots of hair all over and my parents called me a monkey. So, I thought it to be only fitting to make him a card with a monkey on it. : ) I used three of my cricut cartridges- Calligraphy Collection, Lyrical Letters, and Animal Kingdom! I was super excited to use some many on one project!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day! I am off to cook my Daddy dinner!

Congrats...

I had a bit of time on my extra day off and was able to do some blog surfing. Of course I had to hit my normal favorites and this time around Karen's blog was no different. She had a post about a week long event called "Stampin' Out Alzheimer's". I jumped right on board and so should you (link is in my sidebar)! It's a great cause that unfortunately has a large place in my heart with my Grandpa Stanley's memories and recognition of me being taken away. : (

I got right to her card sketch and incorporated the Jazzy Inspiration Challenge for the week for my color inspiration too.
I am really excited how this card turned out. One of my Mom's co-workers is retiring on Friday and through the years she has become a very special person in my life. Happy Mother's Day....!

I had an absolutely wonderful day spending time with my Mom. I took her to breakfast this morning, we went for a drive, got our Sunday soda pop and then came home and "played" (she says play I say work) in the yard. It was such a perfect day to be outside. Not too hot and not too cold. However, I think I might have gotten a little too much sun. Ouch! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day and were able to do something special!

I made this card for my Mom for Mother's day. She just loves flowers so when I saw it posted on Dawn's blog I knew it would be perfect for her!

I also used the colors in this weeks Jazzy Inspirations Challenge. What great colors to choose from... black, red, yellow and white. I think my card fits just perfectly. You should come and play along in the challenge. Check out the blog here.

I used all scraps for this card except the black base. I didn't have any plain black scraps except printed ones. For the flowers I used my Cricut and the Life's A Beach cartridge.

Here's to a wonderful week!

I Scream for Ice Cream...

I saw this wonderful card over at one of my favorite blogs... and just had to make one of my own!

This card is so flipping cute. You could change the greeting and make it for so many different occasions. I was thinking of making a few of them for an ice cream party this summer. Hummmm sounds oh so yummy!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 12...

Yep, it's time again. I know it is late Tuesday night but I have been busy. lol. Here is the sketch for the week from Karen's blog:

This is such a simple sketch that can certianly be dressed up or taken just how it is. When I saw it on Sunday I knew I wanted to try something with it but with so much to do I didn't know if I would have time. Well, unfortunatly I had a need to make a sympathy card. I had few on hand but they were just not the "right" kind. So with my co-worker in mind I decided to take the time with this sketch and make him a card sympathizing the loss of his mother. So, crummy reason to make a card but I did enjoy making it and the sketch was fab to work with. Here is my take on it:

Now there is still time to take part in this sketch challenge and upload your link of your blog post on Karen's for a chance to be spotlighted. Go quick and grab your supplies!
