July SAC Part 2...

For this months Swap A Crop I was given Michelle's pictures. They are from her family egg hunt. I didn't have much for Easter paper and wasn't for sure what I was going to create. Lori was on her way to visit and I knew she was going to be stopping by Craft Warehouse. I was excited. So, she picked me up the paper.

I took the pictures up to our camping weekend but realized I forgot the sketch that I was to follow at home. I had to put it on hold till we got back. I was bummed. Anyway, camping or no camping I really liked how it turned out!

July SAC Part 1...

Okay, I mentioned earlier this week that I'd show you another layout Jean made. Well, here it is:

She was given my July photos to scrap so when I opened my package from her I not only received my June SAC layout I got July's too! I was super excited. She is such a great scrapper. I enjoy her touch to my layouts.

This page is a collection of some of the plant life from Korea. She made a couple photo collages that look very beautiful. She did have a sketch to go off of for the swap and did it perfectly. Thanks Jean for two wonderful layouts!

June SAC from Jean...

Here is the wonderful layout Jean made me:

The gal that was supposed to scrap for me did what I call "flaked" and never followed through with her commitments. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one left hanging. So, our wonderful hostess, Steph, found some individuals to step in and create our layouts. Jean is such a sweetheart and volunteered to do my pictures. She did a super job. I love the layout. Take a peek later this week and I will show you the other fabulous layout she made (gotta take another pic).

Happy Monday!

My Brother...

What can I say??? I just love how this layout turned out. I didn't intend on taking a close-up photo, it just happened by accident and then after seeing it I knew I had to make a layout with it. I really enjoyed the time I spent with my brother for lunch that day and looking back while working on this layout made me smile, just like he does.

I made it back safely from my "camping" trip this weekend. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it next year. With all the bragging Lori and I have done I think we might have to do it twice, once with just the two of us for our new tradition and then a second time and invite all of our other scrapper friends. I am sure they would have enjoyed themselves as well. Hopefully I will have a free daylight moment to snap a couple pictures for you to see what I accomplished. I actually got a lot of layouts done. However, I had one very specific project, July's SAC, and it's a sketch challenge and didn't even put a dent on it. Lori picked up some paper for me on here way here and I printed the pictures out for the July SAC. Got up to the mountains and pulled everything out and no sketch!! I was bummed. Guess I know what I will be doing this weekend. : )

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Blessed...

I just couldn't resist making a cute layout for Heather of the picture I took of her and the girls. I gave it to her for a Mother's Day/Birthday Gift. Now I just need to find her a frame for it as I haven't given her the scrapping bug! LOL

I have lots to do today! Getting ready for the BIG "camping" trip with my BFF. We are going away and scrapping for three days! Wahoo! I am super excited. I am hoping to have lots to share when I return but most of all to come back rested and relaxed! Got a scrap mag packed and a good book to read, now just to gather all those scrapping supplies. LOL

Have a great weekend!

Joy...

Here is one of the layouts that I created for the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's week of fun:

I took this picture when I was on my way to the coast for my scrapping weekend and spent some time with my older brother. We went to lunch and then stopped at the viewpoint for some pictures. It was some wonderful quality time!

A day at the park...

I had the pleasure of watching my two "nieces" a while back and had a lot of fun snapping photos of them at the park. They just love the camera. My friend Heather, their mom, showed up to get them at the park and decided to play with us for a while. I couldn't let the opportunity pass by not taking a family photo of them. : )

This is the layout for my book.
I used a supply challenge to give this layout creating a little of a twist. I had to use 3 solid colors of cardstock, 2 printed papers, two buttons, ribbon and one other embellishment of my choice. I used a flower.

Thanks for stopping by!

Food Drive Winners...

Anne made this layout for me during the May SwapACrop.... I love her creativity with the photos. These photos are from our food drive against the other city departments. The fire department collected the most amount of food. Those fire guys are always willing to pitch in when needed. Anyhoo, the paper she selected is just darling! I need to get my hands on some of it.

Hope you are having a great Sunday!

TGIF...

Wow we are already down one week for the month of June. Spring is practically gone. How sad.... it's my favorite time of the year!

Below is one of the layouts I made on my trip to the coast for my scrapbooking weekend. It also turned out to be perfect for May's Cricut challenge. We were to use a flower cut on a card, layout or altered project.

So, what do you think? The flower cut is from Home Decor. The pictures are another set from my trip to Korea. I was trying an Aloe beverage. It was quite tasty even with the aloe "buggers" and all. LOL

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'll be back later to show you some of the other layouts I have been working on.. busy little bee I have been!

Lot's of SNOW...

Okay so we did not just get a load of snow.. it was this winter. The following is a layout that was made by Miranda for me during May's SwapACrop. I just love how she did the layout. There are so many details that the picture does not do justice!

Hopefully my other layout will be here today so I can share it with you!

Happy Wednesday,

May SAC Part 2

Here is the layout I made for Jean:

Her photos she submitted made me very jealous. I want to travel again real soon! I had some very specific instructions from Jean for what she wanted on her original set of photos and unfortunately I could not make them larger and the printing quality was not satisfactory. So, Jean gave me another set to work on (the ones in the photo). It was wonderful to have to work with so many photos on a layout. I really enjoyed that. I have been challenging myself with multi-photo layouts that are "different" instead of your typical 4x6 photo's crammed into a double layout. Anyways, I think this worked. I can't wait to see what Jean thinks of her layout!

May SAC (part 1)...

This evening I had some time to finish up one of the layouts I am making for May's SwapACrop. When I saw this weeks sketch over at Unscripted Sketches I just knew it would be perfect for the pictures I had. I was really excited to finally be able to join in... I have been itching to participate ever since the blog started. You should go check out the blog and what their design team members created as well.

Here is the sketch they posted:
I can just vision all the different possibilites on this sketch, can you? I am not one for single page layouts. I just always seem to have enough to make a double so it was a nice change to do this. I am however, getting better at doing single layouts. I try to tell myself I don't have to use every single picture I take. lol

Here is my take on the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by!

April SAC Part 1...

I received this wonder layout from Sheila for April's SwapACrop. Our challenge this month was to go off this sketch. I am so excited to add it to my Korea album. The colors Sheila used are perfect (you know since green is one of my favorites). She went above and beyond and even added some Korean writing to my layout. Wowzers! Thanks Sheila!

Cricut Challenge...

I was so happy to join in last month for the cricut challenge, and this month was no different. This month the challenge was to use a cricut cut with the card feature for your card, altered item or scrapbook page. I told myself from the beginning that if I was going to do this I had to do a scrapbook page no matter what. I am really trying hard to get my Korea album finish and this challenge will help me accomplish this.

So, for my project I decided to use the bamboo cut from the Life's a Beach Cart using the photo card feature. I really like how it turned out. I also used the bamboo charm feature. For the title I used Lyrical Letters (can't remember the feature right now).

These photos are from my Temple stay while in Korea. The bamboo off to the side of the temple was really neat to see. I had never seen bamboo growing in the "wild". The view that is framed is looking out on the temple grounds from the bamboo "forest".

I have a Swap A Crop layout that I need to finish... then it's packing for my crop at the coast! I am so looking forward to getting away for a few days and meeting some friends in real life (Watch out Vivienne, Steph and Kris! lol). Oh and making a serious dent in my Korea scrap pages. Heck maybe I will get a few done of Lori's wedding. You never know... depends on how much talking I accomplish too! lol

Have a great night!

Breathtaking...

For April's SwapACrop challenge we are going off of the sketch to the right. When the swap was posted I knew it was perfect for one of my own pages. I couldn't wait to use it. This a great sketch to use for lots of photos or even throwing in some enlargements. There is still time to sign up for the swap... you have until April 5th....post a comment if you are interested and I will send you a link to the thread on the Cricut MB where it is posted.

Okay.... after the sketch comes my page I created:

Close up of the journaling circle:

Showing off my Lyrical Letters title : )

For this page I used some retired SU card stock and printed paper as well as the SU set Embrace Life. These photos are from my first view of a temple while I was in Korea. This temple was smack dab in the middle of the HUGE (and I mean huge) city Lori and Josh were living in called Daejeon. The Korean writing and painting was absolutely beautiful. So calming with the hustle and the bustle of the city just outside the gate. Kind of crazy too!

Cactus House...

While I was scrapping with my friends last weekend I started this layout:

I finally had a chance to finish it this past week. I am really trying hard to get my Korea album finished. This is one step closer.

These pictures are from Lori, Josh and My's visit to Jeju-do while I was in Korea. We stopped at this really neat place called Ilchulland. They had this huge "cactus house" that we walked through. It was really neat to see all the kinds of cactus.

I used my cricut cartridge called Calligraphy Collection, DCWV paper (both printed and the card stock) and this wonderful stamp from a company called Great Impressions. Steph picked it up for me last summer and gave it to me for my birthday. I have been patiently waiting to use it and another one she gave me.

3.29.2009

I received my SAC layout...

Saturday's mail was full of goodies for me. I got my two new cricut carts I ordered, Life's a Beach and Lyrical Letters. Can't wait to play with them and show you what I create.

I also received my Swap a Crop layout from Shannon (Pattipanda). I just love what she did.

The map of Korea and the Korean spelling of the titles she included are wonderful. It will be a great addition to my book!

3.26.2009

Stampin up layout...

I purchased a couple of SU! simply scrappin kits to try my hand at them. I am thinking of doing a scrapbook class at our local library using all kinds of tools I collected and figured the kit used below would be perfect for the pages. I think the theme is going to be spring/Easter project so everyone can come with pictures in those tones however, these pictures are from August and I think they work just perfectly. I'll be sure to show you some other examples I am creating with this kit and my cricut in hopes of a great class later on this spring!

3.22.2009

SAC Part 1...

Here is the layout I made for March's SwapACrop on the Cricut MB. I just love that plaid paper and was super excited to find a project to use it on. I know the recipient has received it but haven't heard if she likes it or not. Hopefully I will know soon. : )

Thanks for looking!
